DAVIDA GETAWAY
The story of Davida Getaway is one of shining a spotlight into a dark, forgotten… Read More
Ten years now… No. Twelve years as at last month actually.
Twelve years of a labour of love.
It’s been a typical love dance. Now you’re up, now you’re down; backwards, forwards; this way that way.
Never a moment of boredom though. Never a thought to retreat!
Every step feels right. Never a doubt of the way to go. Forward.
Like a calling. I know i was born to do it. I had to do it. I did not even know that i was doing it, until it happened!
It felt, nah feels as natural as the air that i breath. This dizzyingly high altitude mountain air. So far away i am, but still i feel the chill of the evening breeze as i pull the jacket tighter around me and adjust the warm scarf around my neck.
So this week ‘Victor laminates’ has been installing the floor laminates in the downstairs’ rooms.
We are finally getting rid of that cold cement floor that the throw carpets were hardly able to protect our guests from! Am sorry to all our guests. The uptake of the Davida Getaway Executive Hotel Rooms, as they were, was of great encouragement to me. My assurance that henceforth, the experience will be truly awesome.
Like i said, Davida Getaway remains a labour of love.
The upstairs’ rooms were not created equal. They stand out. They are befitting DELUXE spaces:
Large, humongous really. Custom-made beds with soft cotton tailor-made duvets and bedsheets plus carefully chosen and tailored curtains for the French windows opening up to a private balcony.
The Coffee Table and two seats give off an intimate air that brings out a peace that demands to be internalised. Tea, coffee and a hot water kettle are standard for all rooms.
Every inch of the establishment has been sprinkled with love and commitment. Lucky for us all, the staff have picked up on the cheerful, positive vibe, that makes our guests come back for more ..
This engagement is a Great Blessing. It is my reason for being.
Did i mention the fact of being Architect, Quantity Surveyor, Contractor, Interior Designer, Foreman and sometimes even fundi, all rolled into one.
How that excites me! The challenge is intoxicating! You can’t imagine how much!!
Karibuni Davida.
