A Rustic stand-alone Cottage is the Davida Getaway jewel in the crown. The high roof, and creative internal timber and logs architecture, provide our guests with space and warmth to counter the external chill of the mountains.Â
Davida Getaway is in rural surroundings. All around us is farmland with everything from potatoes, carrots, peppers, all manner of traditional greens; not to mention strawberries, tree tomatoes and pepino fruits.
Our modern conference Hall is a private, comfortable facility. Be it a Corporate or private meeting, our banqueting team will cater to our guests’ most demanding requirements.Â
In the chill of the evening mountain air, nothing can be more cosy than cuddling around the warmth of a glorious fireplace. This open but smoke-free fire within the Cottage is also replicated in the external Fire pit that is used by those who would prefer the raw outdoor weather.Â
Both the Davida Getaway and the Cottage kitchens are fully equipped to ensure an enjoyable self-catering experience (Cottage), and delicious, well presented meals from the main Hotel. The cutlery and crockery are cleaned and well-maintained with a discerning eye for our guests’ satisfaction
Private, open spaces in the forest provide for a wide range of activities that visiting formal groups can utilise for bonding activities. Bonfires are also a part of this outdoor experience. The Water-pan within this area, together with the canopy of the trees, give the place a naturally rejuvenating feel.

Another of the seven rooms comprising the Davida Farm Cottage offering. This one is on the ground floor, adjacent to the Fireplace and the living area. No effort is spared in ensuring warmth and comfort. Space and light are in plenty.Â

This cozy room in the attic has its own private suspended balcony. Enjoy the peace and quiet, with your early morning cuppa at the balcony. The sunrise views are simply awesome!

These two rooms are ideal for guests wishing to spend the night in one room, but not necessarily in one bed. The rustic beds and minimal furniture give off an airy feel to the space.
Davida Getaway is in the heart of Nyandarua County in the central part of Magical Kenya. It is situated within sight of the famous (more of infamous) “Happy Valley” where the early colonialists indulged in so-called White mischief.Â
The thick Nyandarua (Aberdare) Mountains were also home to the Kenyan freedom fighters known as Mau Mau. Our guests have an opportunity to visit the caves they lived in.Â
Davida Lounge is the common space for our guests. Free Wi-fi, and a full DSTV bouquet for the Premier League lovers included. A fully stocked bar, and professionally manned kitchen ensure that our discerning patrons lack for nothing. Our staff is trained to place our clients first.

The Aberdare National Park, renowned for it’s Elephant populations, Antelopes, Colobus Monkeys and a myriad other animal species, is but a short drive away.Â
Hikers have a field day in the wondrous wooded trails with crystal clear water falls and amazing flower bushes.Â
Lake Ol’Bollosat, the only fresh water lake to be found in the central region of Kenya, is also a few minutes drive from Davida Getaway.
Davida Getaway has ‘makuti sheds’ with a difference. The “thingira” is more of an external cosy lounge, complete with comfortable sofas around a fire-place. The Fire Pit is a favourite for groups’ bonding sessions!
Davida Getaway is situated in quiet, sparsely populated countryside. Take a safe walk along stretches of farmland expanses of green potato leaves, peas, with their purple and white blooms. The sight and sounds of cows and sheep feeding in the fields will fill you with welcome relaxation.
Part of our unique selling proposition is that we rear our own sheep and chicken for consumption by our guests. The same provide us with the manure for our greenhouse crops. This assures us of chemical-free, organic vegetables and fruits.
The trees in the forest provide a good camouflage for those who prefer to spend the night under the stars. Our guests can also choose to pitch their camp on the Cottage lawns. Privacy and unobtrusive security measures are always guaranteed.Â
