A Refreshing, Rural, Rustic experience
Davida Getaway was conceived of love; a love of nature. This love found a home in an unadulterated environment in the little known County in Kenya called Nyandarua. Ndarua refers to the dry hides of cows; hence the name the locals gave to the undulating mountains, before they were renamed Aberdares. Â
The Getaway is in a secluded, private setting. Neighbours are few and far-between. These are mostly subsistence farmers of potatoes; a cow or two for milk, a few sheep and chickens sometimes. The weather is fairly wet and hence a green cover is prevalent. An amazing variety of flowers adorn the surroundings.
Natural logs, furniture hewn from raw timber, twigs finishes, prevail in the rustic themed Cottage. The external entertainment ‘bandas’ are made of logs and grass thatch. The garden bar is a simple structure offering guests that outdoorsy experience. It is difficult to describe the serenity that only an abundance of trees, and birds can provide.
